Soojung Yoon and Shanglin Wu share a deep interest in the theme of migration. Through portrait photography, their works capture the shifting states of identity, clothing, space, emotion, and memory experienced by people living in Taiwan. What may appear as marginal stories are, in fact, central to the lived realities and everyday challenges faced by others. Yoon’s presents the living spaces and migration stories of foreign women residing in Taiwan. Her other work, , takes the form of a workshop that invites participants to recreate and reconnect with deep familial emotions through the reuse of old garments. Wu’s allows us to see the aesthetic and temperamental contrasts evoked by traditional versus everyday clothing, through portraits of young Taiwanese indigenous individuals wearing both traditional attire and casual dress—revealing how identity and culture flow through what we wear.
